Salesforce.com, a San Francisco-based provider of Web-native customer relationship management (CRM) software, today announced that Steve Cakebread will join the company's management team as chief financial officer (CFO).
Cakebread's 25-year career includes stints with Silicon Graphics, Hewlett-Packard and, most recently, Autodesk, where he served as CFO.
"As we continue to scale the organization, we are excited to have Steve join our management team and help move salesforce.com to the next level," said Marc Benioff, chairman, president and CEO of salesforce.com. "His extensive senior management experience will be a strategic advantage to Salesforce.com as we execute on our mission of delivering software as a service."

On Wednesday, Jamcracker, a Cupertino, Calif.-based Web applications and services aggregator, announced the promotion of Todd Johnson to president. Johnson who has been serving as the company's senior vice president, Jamcracker Platform will continue to be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company including sales, alliances, product development, engineering, marketing and service delivery.
Prior to Jamcracker, Johnson was vice president of worldwide marketing at BackWeb, where he was responsible for the company's product marketing, branding, global awareness and marketing communications operations. Prior to joining BackWeb, Johnson was senior vice president, server solutions at Silicon Graphics. Johnson also spent seven years at Hewlett-Packard in marketing and operations positions.
In addition to Johnson's promotion, Jamcracker also announced the promotion of Mark Kettering to vice president of sales and the hiring of Kim Orumchian as vice president of marketing and product development.
Kettering, previously with the company's Northwest sales office, will focus on direct sales and indirect channels organizations. He has held executive sales positions with Rhythms Netconnections, Cambridge Technology Partners, Sense8 Corp., Oracle Corp., Digital Equipment Corp. and AT&T Information Systems.
Orumchian, the co-founder and former executive vice president of product development of FatBrain, will oversee Jamcracker's engineering, testing, IT, QA, product development and management functions for the company.
