Klout, a startup that offers a service that helps individuals and companies measure their social clout, brought the concept of social media influence out of the shadows. San Francisco-based Kred wants to shed even more light on the idea for users of Salesforce's CRM platform.
Kred teamed with Cadalys, a Salesforce implementation consulting partner, to bring its Kred for CRM app to the industry-leading cloud CRM service. In a nod to Salesforce's social app development platform, the companies built Kred for CRM on Force.com.
Social influence measurement has been steadily wending its way into the CRM software market. The Xobni for Outlook add-on supports several social media widgets including Klout, which allows users to determine a contact’s social influence. QuestBack's Listen & Act social engagement tool also features Klout support.
Connecting Social CRM, Business Objectives
Kred is banking that its tight integration with Salesforce CRM will appeal to companies that use Salesforce. Available via Salesforce's AppExchange marketplace, Kred for CRM aims to help marketers and customer service specialists navigate the often tricky waters of social media engagement and, more important, connect such engagement to business objectives.
"Kred for CRM accelerates the value of social media to the enterprise by allowing CRM users to use social media influence measurement to drive sales, marketing and customer service," said Kred CEO Andrew Grill in a company release. "Kred's unique community score calculation assures that users can easily pinpoint well-qualified influential people in their CRM database who are trusted and who actively discuss the subjects most relevant to a company and its offerings."
Kred scores social contacts on the basis of worldwide influence and outreach. Additionally, Kred extends its influencer rankings to cover over 70 online communities – in areas such as technology, finance and bloggers -- to further narrow a list of desirable contacts.
Kred for CRM provides Salesforce users with new social influencer discoverability options. For example, users can schedule keyword-based searches to periodically find trusted and influential identities. Search results can be converted into Salesforce leads, contacts, accounts and cases.
Other use cases, according to the company, include prioritizing customer service based on influence and helping sales organizations identify contacts who have existing relationships with key prospects.
