The acquisition could be used to add project management-like features to Salesforce's Chatter collaboration service.

Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) has made yet another acquisition.

On the heels of its acquisitions of Heroku, Etacts and Dimdim, the online CRM leader has acquired Manymoon, a popular service that adds productivity and collaboration tools to Google Apps and LinkedIn.

Manymoon announced the acquisition in a blog yesterday.

While Manymoon didn't say how Salesforce will use its services, Manymoon could add project management-like features to Salesforce's Chatter enterprise social networking service.

In a research note today, Stifel Nicolaus analyst Tom Roderick wrote, "It is clearly evident that Salesforce.com will use the acquired technology to further extend the existing capabilities within the company's Chatter initiative. By offering tighter integration with Google apps (which are already integrated into the core CRM platform), Salesforce.com is looking to make Chatter more functional across the enterprise."

Earlier this week, Salesforce unveiled a new free Chatter.com service that the company will advertise during Sunday's Super Bowl.

The Manymoon acquisition price is believed to be around $30 million.

In what's been a busy week for Salesforce, the company has also invested in social CRM and social monitoring startup Seesmic.
